Visit to Zoroastrian House: The Past and the Present of the Parsis

On 3rd October 2026, Helix House went down to Desker Rd to visit the first and only Parsi and Zoroastrian Museum in Singapore. We were given a tour around the museum by Mr Hormuz Avari, the current Vice President of the Parsi Zoroastrian Association of South East Asia (PZAS).

On the first floor, Mr Hormuz shared about the history of Zoroastrianism and the rituals they practice. There was also a small prayer hall inside the museum. Mr Hormuz also explained about the Cyrus Cylinder, Persepolis and the Atash Behrams, which us Helixians found very interesting. Upstairs, on the second floor, there were displays of traditional clothing. Mr Hormuz shared about how they traditionally conduct their open-air burial rituals, after which we had a Q&A session.

The visit served as a meaningful reminder of how diverse Singapore’s society is. Helixians developed a deeper appreciation for the Parsi community history and traditions and of how they continue to preserve their presence here in Singapore.

One visit, many insights, a more connected Helix House community.
Helixians explored the rich teachings of the Baha’i faith during a meaningful visit to the Baha’i Centre.
